I could not WAIT until Fall 1993 so I could begin working in the music and television department. WOW, what an experience! The main people I remember the most were my best friends Chante Holsey and Dalonte Smith. I also met my lifetime best friend and film partner Jules Christian as well at LBCC. Wow, those were the days. The music I made during this time was all for fun. But locked away on a magnetic format D.A.T. (Digital Audio Tape), especially since D.A.T. are not in production any more, I have not heard my music since 1995. Now for the first time, thanks to Rob at yipDogStudios, I am now able to hear my music. They say that magnetic tape can only last 10 years or so in the best conditions, like a dry cool environment. Well, my tapes have been through HOT Arizona summers in storage and extreme humidity weather in North Carolina. After all these years of careless handling, I can archive the audio and thanks again to Rob, he was able to transfer the audio files digitally on his MAC to a WAVE file and burned it on a DVD-R. I just picked up the DVD last night (January 26, 2008), awesome. It has been over 10 years now. Here it is... Above pictures on on Yahoo! Flickr: This DAT (Digital Audio Tape) is a recording of the music I made when I attended Long Beach City College (Liberal Arts Campus, California) in 1993. I am surprised that the tape is still good after all of these years. With the help of a good friend Rob from yipDog Studios, he was able to DIGITALLY transfer the audio to a WAVE file (48 kHz - 16 bit) and save it on a DVD, all 2 hours of it. [Utterz] (original tape Fall 1993 - maxell DAT DM 120 Ceramic Armor Metal - Digital Audio Tape Back Coated / now archived as of January 26, 2008- Memorex DVD-R SL - 1.3GB 16bits/44.1kHz wave file) The track numbers below corresponds with the track data on the tape. I started attending Long Beach City College Spring semester of 1993. My major was Film at the time and decided to change to television and music production instead because I had no idea how elaborate the television and music labs were in the music department.
